Let us just get this out of the way -- we all know a hurricane hit New Orleans in 2005. The city was devastated, boo hoo, much of what happened was a result of poor response by a bunch of politicians.
Quick aside: isn't funny the same logistical issues that plagued the Bush response to Katrina are rearing their ugly head in Haiti? Yet we are not seeing news stories how Obama's failure to get supplies to the victims -- except in the foreign press.
Can we just get over fucking Katrina already? That hurricane also hit Florida and the Mississippi Gulf shore, yet those people are not still screaming for help. The floods in Iowa last year devastated more property and left more people homeless, but we do not hear how we should all root for Iowa and John Deere? I am sick of hearing this story already, and it is only going to get worse over the next two weeks.
How would you like to be that sap who entered the huddle at the end of regulation for the Vikings? That 12 men in the huddle penalty killed any chance for a field goal and led to the Favre interception.
When is the NFL going to change the overtime rule? It is ridiculous that the Vikings never touched the ball in overtime. I think both teams should have a chance, then sudden death comes into play. A coin toss should not determine who goes to the Superbowl. That said, the Vikings shot themselves in the foot with all the fumbles and interceptions. Hold onto the ball.
I am taking predictions now on the Superbowl. I will give mine later.
I've never really liked the NFL overtime rule, but on the other hand, I suppose if the Vikings defense was really all that, they would have been able to stop New Orleans from getting into field goal range, right?
ReplyDeleteGiven how the Colts took the Jets apart, and how the Saints pretty much struggled to maintain parity with the Vikings all game (even when the Vikings were giving up the ball left and right), I don't see the Super Bowl being much of a challenge for Peyton and crew.
Besides, I always like seeing Purdue get beat, and the concept of the Colts beating Drew Brees like a rented mule appeals to me.
Are you seriously comparing a hurricane everyone saw coming for days to an earthquake that happened suddenly? And you're comparing the emergency response in a third-world country to the response in the United States -- in a major US city? Really!?

ReplyDeleteWon't make much difference both are populated by people who are only looking for a handout. New Orleans will still be a shithole 50 years from now and so will Haiti.
Rather cool site you've got here. Thanx for it. I like such topics and everything that is connected to this matter. I would like to read a bit more soon.

Colts by 75, Romo gets sacked 8 times.
ReplyDeleteRomo is still running from the Vikings D. I bet he has nightmares to rival those he has about holding the ball on FGs.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes, let's get over effin' Katrina, already. I like the Saints okay, but you know we're going to be frikkin' bomBARDED by how much the city of New Orleans needs a winner because of the hurricane (I've already heard it on TV...on Sunday!). Give me a break.
ReplyDeleteAnd Haiti IS a shithole.
Colts by 14.
As a jets fan, i traveled to indy to watch the game. Most fans were ok, but damn they are uneducated. Every time Peyton threw an incompletion, the crowd was yelling "interference"!. I was like, STFU already. It's called coverage. Course they were all happy as pigs in shit when they took us apart in the 2nd half. The fans in my section were giving me tons of grief. I was saying, wow, big deal, you beat the Jets for gods sake. That's like beating up a nun and bragging about it.
ReplyDeleteThe colts are truly a great team, but their fan base needs to wise up a little bit. We Jets fans have had 41 years of suffering. If you asshats think you gave us a beating, you haven't watched much Jets football over the past few decades. I'm sure you'll win the Bowl, but I will be rooting for another undedog, the Saints.
It will go to the Colts (final score 24 to 15).
ReplyDeleteVikings have a long history of choking in the 4th. Unless you play the whole 60 minutes, you get beat. The Saints won on Minnesota mistakes, not their own merits, kind of like "Entitlement City" itself.
ReplyDeleteAmen on the Katrina pity-party: All that tax money, kickbacks into politicians and backers pockets, "school bus" Nagin and the fact they had a week to bug out never gets mentioned either...but they're coasters, so the whining goes on and the media lament their multi-billion-dollar plight.
