When any crime happens, police often ask everybody in the immediate area for identification. If a speeding car is pulled over and it appears the occupants of said auto are intoxicated, then all are asked for identification. Arrests are made accordingly if some of the riders are under age. isn't that profiling? What is the difference?
I can only hope more states join Arizona. maybe then the Feds will understand we want controlled immigration -- not criminals.
edit. Here is the text of the law. Note the law only acts in enforcing existing Federal Law.
Section 1. Intent
The legislature finds that there is a compelling interest in the cooperative enforcement of federal immigration laws throughout all of Arizona.
Illegal is illegal.
ReplyDeleteProfiling shouldn't be.
Go read Frank, too.

ReplyDeleteOk, so Arizona law says that if you are in violation of FEDERAL law, you are also in violation of state law. Where is the problem?
ReplyDeleteYou will have to show me the Constitutional issue specifically.
I am willing to bet I have read the Constitution many more times than you have, BTW.
Erin, see the original post for text of the Arizona law -- it merely backs up existing Federal Law, so the Supremecy C;lause is not affected.
ReplyDeleteWe should always remember the Federal Government was created BY the States, not the reverse.
If it is suddenly vogue to to stick to the Constitution, maybe we should start paying attention to the 9th and 10th Amendments.
All liberals must hang.

Wonders which one Erin wack job so called experts told her about the Supremacy Clause. It is clear she has never read it.
ReplyDeleteJames Old Guy
Erin wouldn't know the Constitution if it whacked her upside the head.
ReplyDeleteUnless maybe someone's already tried that and that's what's going on here.
We need to stop the flow of illegal immigrants into our country first. Then we need to address the problem of what to do with those who are already here illegally.
ReplyDeleteWe need to stop calling these people undocumented immigrants. They aren't undocumented, many of them are fraudulently documented.
Finally, once we solve the other problems, we need to fix an immigration system which makes it easier to come here illegally than it is to come here legally.
