'Splain this Lucy

The Republicans in charge tell me the best candidate is the guy who lost to the guy who was trounced by Obama last time.

My other choice is a big government insider named Newt.

Yuck.

But even the guy who pushes carts out at my local WalMart would be better than the guy currently playing golf while living in the White House.

  1. Dude, neocons are NOT Republicans! They are the same Communists who subverted the Democrats in 1968, it just took them til 2001 to subvert the GOP.
Does THAT clarify anything for you, or will you stay willfully ignorant til the American Gestapo are breaking into your house in the middle of the night?

  2. Joe, I have a serious proposal as to how the President can help the economy. He should play more golf!

  3. Newt is rather clever
Not A dud like BHO or Mitt
But it is you that vote not me.
I am hitting 200,000 visits in the next 20 hours or so.
If you’re no is no 200,000 I will spend a whole post slagging you and why you should not be the next president. Now that is worth more than 200,000 of Sierra Leone, leones.
So as they say in Chicago and Freetown, visit soon and visit again and again.

  5. Was someone giving Governor Daniels a glaucoma test while he was giving his re-butt-al speech?

  6. "Sure, the president’s approval/disapproval figure is only 48/46, but he has achieved that after six months of solid Republican debating. After six months of attack."

  7. A wager, Erin?
Let's make a bet on unemployment figures at the election.
Loser donates (you pick the amount) to the winner's charity.
    Deal?

  8. No thanks Greybeard, but why didn't you state your number? I hope for something beneath 8.5% unemployment come November, but wouldn't be surprised to see something higher than that. If I did care to wager, 8.5 would be the number.

I already have one bet riding on November anyway. On Jan. 1, 2011 a guy at a party bet me that Palin would be our next president. He wanted to bet a grand, but I don't wager in those figures.

I took that $100 bet, went home and stashed a C-note in a cubbyhole in order to cover it. Make no mistake, the bill is still there.

  9. I would have taken the $100 against Palin too, EOB. She is like Clinton, a polarizing figure. There is a clear love/Hate dynamic with NOTHING in the middle. Unelectable.

I hope you something great with that C note -- spend it on something indulgent. One should always just blow free money. Take the family to dinner, buy some crazy art, go to a ball game. Buy a box of good cigars and invite me over for a smoke. I'll bring some brews. Enjoy the victory.

  10. I would wager...
    Housing starts will be worse.
    Unemployment higher than today.
We'll have several more big bank failures/takeovers.
We'll hear about more of these Obama-favored "Green Companies" failing and find they had been subsidized with taxpayer $$$$.
And the thing that will probably be a BIG issue just before the election? They're gonna run out of money and have to jack up the debt ceiling once again, maybe in September. Devastating.

  11. I don't think I was clear. My Palin bet ain't over until after the Nov. 2012 elections. My bettin' buddy still believes she's going to enter and win the race.

So my C-note is stashed just in case he's right and I have to pay up.

  12. Sorry, that is what I meant, when the bet is won. I am so sure you are going to win, I am already helping you spend it!
