[C]onservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? ...if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are. here

That position kind of reminds you of other people-loving left-leaning governments from history. You know, like in East Germany where the government was so popular they had to build a wall to keep West Berliners from flocking into the communist zone. It was Obama mentor and neighbor and former far-left terrorists Bill Ayres who said that it would be necessary to build concentration camps to re-educate some Americans. It is the progressives among us who are militant about political correctness and enforcing group think. Tyranny in the name of the "people" seems to be a common trait among the progressive-types.
