George Romney Wikipedia |
Lady Hamilton (1765 - 1815) was married to Sir William Hamilton, British ambassador to Naples. She was the favorite model for artist George Romney. Mostly, she is remembered as the mistress of Lord Horatio Nelson, Hero of the Nile and Trafalgar.
She was known as a raving beauty in her day, and she is absolutely gorgeous by today's standards as well.
Romney's second career at AMC worked out pretty well too.
ReplyDeleteShe’s no Jane Morris. https://ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proserpine_(obra_de_teatre) Favorite model of Dante Gabriel Rossetti.

ReplyDeleteHey Teacher I thought of you when I listened to this:

You might enjoy it
The printed teasers are pretty good. I am a cheapskate and loathe having to pony up $6 for anything on the internet. I’ll ponder this awhile, thanks for the link. Going to Chicago next week and hope to spend much of one day in the Art Institute. As the “travelin’ man” can you recommend any eateries downtown. Your faithful readers are invited to respond as well. Thanks,
ReplyDeleteI didn't know he was charging for the older episodes, I got it free.
ReplyDeleteI always try to nab a portillos dog when I'm in Chicago. I don't know about downtown. The Berghof is not far from the Art Institute if you like German food. Further north Gibson makes a mean, but very expensive steak.
Most of my very many trips to Chicago have been in the 'burbs
I will be in the far NW suburbs of the windy city next week
Fond memories of the Berghoff from years ago. Might be time for another visit. Not a big dog fan but Portillo Italian beef looked good. Any thoughts?
ReplyDeleteI just ate Portillo Italian beef Sunday they opened in my neck of the woods last year
