Forty years ago today I went on the first date with the girl that became my wife. Pretty much everything that is good in my life stems from that date.

    It's interesting...
    I have three friends who married High-School sweethearts and are now celebrating 50+ years of marriage.
    Can't help but wonder what made those unions work.

    I found mine at 24, but unfortunately I wasn't the love of her life.

    Or at least, I wasn't until, 19 years later, I'd been married to someone else for four years and she admitted otherwise. Oh well. She had her chance.
