I listened to a terrific audiobook on my journey. It was called “The 64thMan”. It is about a guy and his struggles to realize his life-long dream of playing in the NFL. It was funny and a little sad. Apparently it is only available as an audio book. Too bad, it would make for an entertaining read.
Now I have the classic “The Thin Man” cued up for tomorrow’s journeys.
It started raining hard as I pulled into the hotel parking lot. I got a little wet walking in. Fret not, I’m not made of sugar, I won’t melt.
There we are, all updated. I could probably write the same post tomorrow evening. It will be more of the same. Tune in and find out.
I lived in Owensboro once. Have you ever been to Mammoth Cave?
ReplyDeleteYup
ReplyDeleteMy wife’s family is from the Mammoth Cave area
There is a funny story the archives somewhere about a trip to Mammoth Cave
I drove through Owensboro on my way to Paducah
That was a funny story about Mammoth Cave. My son, 5, did dangerous (to me) things on the really narrow places and was bound and determine he was going to carry the lantern we were given. He did not appreciate it at all. Okay, maybe he did. We left the daughter-3- at home because we she had asthma.
ReplyDelete64th Man? Thin Man?
ReplyDeleteYour choice in literature betrays a disturbing proclivity for toxic masculinity, man.
Er, I me tovarich.
We are in Tennessee... Kentucky's poorer brother.
ReplyDeleteWe used to look down our noses.
Now? The area is looking more and more attractive.
GB, in Ky we think of Tn as the rich neighbor. But living in small town in western portion we have been quite through all the upheaval the last 2 years. Petty theft a murder or two a year among relatives and housing is low.
ReplyDeleteFiN, I play duplicate bridge in Paducah.
