There is no better way to start the year than reviving a feature no one enjoys. Here are five Rock and Roll chicks:
No one sings like Grace Slick. Check out her range,
Ann and Nancy Wilson --'nuff said.
Do you remember this 1980's band?
Somewhere way back in the archives is my story of seeing the Go Gos in concert. Clearly, I was not always an old fart.
whey oh whey oh...
I know I left off some great ones -- Fleetwood Mac, the Motels, Pat Benetar, Blondie, The Pretenders, the B52's...It gives something to look forward to doesn't it?

It was extremely interesting for me to read this article. Thank author for it. I like such themes and anything that is connected to them. I definitely want to read a bit more on that blog soon.
yeah, I remember Quarterflash, I don't know anyone who could watch Rindy Ross play saxophone and not think "Blowjob"
On a compltetly rndom note, my oldest boy says the keyboard player from Quarterflash was one of his instructors at Ball State.
One who didn't get really big, but who had such a boundless enthusiasm in her singing, was Patti Smyth of Scandal. Her two big hits were "Goodbye to You" and my favorite, "The Warriors." Then there was the deeper, sultry voice of Laura Branigan.
It's not just old fogeyism, only favoring music from one's youth. Go look up performances by those women you mentioned, and newer ones by Lady Gaga, Fergie, Chris Aguillera, and Britney. Women singers in the 80's had the pipes, and those nowadays just screech.
"reviving a feature no one enjoys"
Pretty much says it all.
Remember Quarterflash? I have it on CD. Transferred from the cassette.
Heart I've seen 3 times. Once each with Ian Hunter (Cleveland), Cheap Trick (Norfolk)and Kansas (Philadelphia) as the opening acts.
I love a good chick band or female lead vocalist.
Walk like a musician. heh
Ann and Nancy! Heck yes! I whole-HEARTedly concur. Lol.
