I have been through the POB Canon four times, some books five. I need to replace my paper copies with Kindle versions, but that will take some bucks.
You should read Frederick Marryat. POB lifted the spirit, if not some of the tales straight from his works. Most of his works are free for various electronic readers. Of course Aubrey is based on Lord Cochrane.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through The Mauritius Command. I think this is my fourth or fifth time through the series.
No worries. In 6 1/2 weeks you'll be bored with my Italy pictures.
Oh wait, no you won't. NO ONE could get bored looking at pictures of Italy.

I forgot to mention that Marryat served under Cochrane, so it ios no wonder the tales are similar!
