I've known for years that Redford played pretty fast and loose with Malamud's novel (the ending in particular), but until recently I did not know that Malamud had actually written a fictionalization of a true story.
A league of their own is a good movie, it just did not make my list, you can vote under "other". I also left off the movie where the kid gets his broken arm fixed "too tight" and then pitches for the Cubs. There is also the one where the kid takes over as GM / Coach of the Twins. How could I have left off the Sinatra/Kelly/Esther Williams (!) musical take me out to the Ballgame. Esther Williams!!!!

Pride of the Yankees, primarily because it's a true story.
What! No Sandlot?

You could look it up.
I see the girls of "A League of Their Own" didn't make the cut either.

All amusing, but not great baseball movies.
