By the way English majors, here is the theme of any book/novel/play you will have to read critically in your formative educational years:
Man vs. Nature
Man's inhumanity to man
Man's insignificance
One of these is always the right answer. You are welcome. I digress...
The outage was just enough to make the clocks flash a steady tattoo of 12;00 12:00 12:00. It stopped the load of towels I had just thrown into the dryer (does that make you hot ladies -- me doing laundry?). Of course the computer shut down, I again entered the world of passwords and user names.
While I was away the internet chugged along, filling with bytes and bits of information, true and false. Commenters commented, posters posted and news sites rotated through aimless headlines. You used the interwebz for work, for news, for entertainment. You surfed porn and used the Wikiwhatever. You mapped your route, you booked your flight, you read the previous post. You emailed a joke, you looked at pictures, you read about your favorite team.
Now, power restored you peruse this site. You read my words. Maybe you laugh, maybe you shake your head in disgust. Perhaps you give a quick scan, the letters and spaces mere filler for whatever you seek. Did I respond to your comment? Did I entertain you? Did I make you cry? Do you read my words and say WTF, or such interrogatories free of obscenities you prefer? Why are you here? What do you want from me? How can I be of service?
I know why I write. Why do you read?
I am Hoosierboy, and I approved this message.
