I got one of those letters in the mail. You know the one - Jury Duty. So far it is only the questionnaire, not a summons.
Look, I don’t mind, but I’ve done my share. I did a Federal grand jury back in the 1980s. That was a year of jury duty, every other week. I was on two separate criminal jury trials in the early 2000s. I ve been summoned at least three additional times, only to be canceled at the last minute.
I guess tbe jury duty computer likes my name. I wish the one that picks lottery numbers would get in on the act…

Mazel tov. A fair trial and an efficient hanging.
Only once and it was a murder and rape of 5 people by a serviceman. We didn't know at the time all their newspapers and family were watching in another room.
I may -- may -- have been permanently exempted during the WuFlu. I got called in 2021 and they waived my summons because I have respiratory issues that would have made sitting in the courtroom wearing a mask all day pretty dicey. And the wording of the "Thanks, you don't need to serve" was kind of open-ended. I guess I'll see if they send me a summons again one of these days.
I've been summonsed something like 4 times, only had to appear once, and they got us all the way to the courtroom waiting for voir dire when the two defendants took their plea deal. "Thank you for your service, you are dismissed."
Fuzzy you probably remember one of the main guys I helped indict during my year long grand jury tenure — he owned a grocery chain at the time
I do.
