It may be legit, but the optics stink. Trump has raised tariffs on imported phones, hitting Apple particularly hard. Now his company is going into the phone business.
Not a good look. But appears the Trump children have control of this and it is not being made in the US. They are moving manufacturing from China to India. So tariffs for China to US is 20% on cells and tablets and India is 7.5% to 20% on India. Puts a slightly different slant. But according to Eric Trump the plans are to be making the phones in the United States soon. Maybe it'll flop spectacularly or new plants takes a couple years.
