I for one am damn glad Columbus "discovered" the Americas. I don't care what the revisionists and progressives believe. I am proud to be born in the greatest nation in history.
The thing is, even without Columbus, someone else would eventually have made a similar trip and the New World would still have been colonized. The person doesn't matter, per se, because whoever it was would have been vilified by the p.c. crowd today.
Frankly, when I think about the bastards who followed Columbus, I think things could have been a lot worse than they were.
The whole revisionist case against Columbus is made simply to place guilt on white Europeans for destroying the peaceful indigenous population, who by the way fought all kinds of really nasty wars among themselves, butchered live humans on altars to pagan gods, and probably wiped out the original occupants of the continent when they came across the land bridge from Asia during the last Ice Age.

But yeah, move on, nothing to see here.
