Friday Covers -- Tuesday Edition

Lennon and McCartney get the justifiable credit as the song writing geniuses behind the Beatles. as such I think sometimes George Harrison does not get the credit he deserves.  He wrote some of the most beautiful songs. Nearly every tune he penned is filled with love, emotion and thought. It was not in George to spend twenty minutes cranking out a pop song.

Some of Music's heavyweights covered this song:

I think Frank describes the song best in his intro.

Surprised I liked the Elvis version so much, and disliked the Sinatra (after the intro).

Surprised to see you showing unabashed admiration (song writing genius) for a midnight blue lib like Lennon.

Not sure what Harrison's politics were, although he was unabashed about his interest in Indian culture and Hinduism.

Have a good weekend, Hoose.

Heck Erin, it is no secret that crazy lefty libs are the best artists -- actors, musicians, writers, painters, etc.

Maybe it is because they are the dreamers, while the righties are the workers? Ha ha.
