The wind in the willow

The wind is moaning around the eaves of the house and whipping the willow branches like a cat o'nine tails. There is a half-formed analogy floating in my brain about Mother Nature's angry bosun, but I am quite certain it is not worth pursuing.

It looks like winter will pay a visit this week starting with a dusting of snow this afternoon and Arctic temperatures later in the week. I think I will work from my home office those days.

Last week a liberal blogger called me out for some economic predictions I made in a post I wrote back in 2008. It seems that I was right in my predictions. I was going to chastise her with ridicule and scorn but why bother? Progressives are never wrong, even when they are, and their smug arrogance prevents them from recognizing when they are making fools of themselves. Instead of wasting any more of our time arguing with howler monkeys, I will do a Monty Python and fart in her general direction. Of course, no matter how odoriferous my flatulence, it will be masked by the stink of greater Cleveland.

The neighbor's porch light is winking across the cul-de-sac as the shrubs bend to the will of the wind, occasionally blocking the soft white glow of the energy saving bulb.  The dim winking in the distance does not call to me like Daisy's green light across the bay, but rather encourages me to get off the old iPad and turn on an old movie as I wait for Sunday football to start.

I hope you have a great Day.

I admire anyone who loves their hometown, but the political side of the blog is not a place for a polite discussion. If you challenge anything two trained attack puppies will become very nasty and personal. I long ago stopped any comment of political nature over there. Now on the positive side she is a pretty good writer and while deep research and facts are no the strong point, personal feelings are not left out. I still stop bye and read but rarely comment, one needs to keep track of the deep or shallow thoughts of the other side. Oh on the doesn’t mean anything part, the Cleveland Browns need to keep Conner Shaw around , he seems to be the only QB that has a clue, then again I am a Gamecock fan and a bit prejudice on that opinion.

I had not commented there on politics for a long time for the same reasons, unil she attacked me out of the blue.

I still don't know what prompted a long diatribe against something I penned six years ago that turned out to be correct on every front.

It amuses me to no end when y'all refuse to call me by my name.

I'll tell you what, Hoose, I'll give you a prediction right here. And you can call me out with a trumpet if I get it wrong.

This summer, SCOTUS will gut the ACA by way of King v. Burwell. Y'all are going to win on this one. Y'all are going to get exactly what you wanted.

"Let us see, gas lines, runaway inflation and high unemployment ... "

Correct on every front, eh?

Welp, the only gas lines I've seen since Obama took office happened just the other day when a station was selling regular for $1.81 a gallon.

Runaway inflation? Really?

Treasury Bonds Rise; U.S. Inflation Expectation Lowest Since 2011

That's from NASDAQ, Dec. 8, 2014. Was inflation going crazy before that? Did I miss the headline?

Unemployment is less than six percent.

Why can't you just admit that things are far better than you ever would have expected? Oh, because you can't.

Silly righties.

Things are far better than I expected

But for four years gas prices were at the levels I stated. Unemployment still is not at pre Obama levels

If food was counted in the inflation numbers they would be much higher. Even this administration admits the cost of living is much higher compared to the Stegner wages. I think that is inflation no matter how you dice it.

If I predict the Cubs wil lose 90 games and they do this year and next but in 2020 they win the pennant was I wrong?

i had a whole post written ripping you by name but decided it was unbecoming and frankly classless.

Well Erin O'brien,

I tried to brush of your comment to my old post with a "we will have to agree to disagree" but you decided to spend your time calling me out.

I can only conclude even you are getting bored reading the boot-licking of your sycophantic commenters and crave dissent. Perhaps you will do anything for a hit, even if means baiting a conservative?

I'm sorry I was the patsy to your hysterical need to say things are better now no matter how bad your ilk made them for the previous six years.

If you have some secret desire for my approbation you will be waiting a long time.

Obama and the proggies had nothing to do with lower gas prices. You can thank the eeeeevil greedy capitalists who turned hydraulic fracturing into big business for that.

Obama and the proggies were still patting themselves on the back for stopping Keystone XL when the frackers' blitz blindsided them and threw them for a 20 yard loss.

You sure are easy to rile, Hoose.
