Mixing fiction and reality

In the classic thriller The Shining a family takes on a job as caretakers of a mountain hotel. Isolated and alone, Jack goes nuts and tries to kill his family.

Too bad no one thought to walk out the front door of the hotel. Down the hill from the Stanley Hotel, about a hundred yards away,  is a strip mall, including a pie shop and a McDonalds.

The pie shop is pretty good.

PS for me. Miss you Mom

Name a horror movie where the victims make a smart decision.

Blue day for you I see.

Got a couple of those coming up too. Lost my mom to cancer of the liver, 10 days before I lost Tallman to pancreatic cancer. The 2-year anniversaries of each are coming up.

The holidays will never be the same. Neither will I.

Yeah, but back then, when the movie was made, there was NOTHING besides the hotel.

Don't confuse the Present with the Past.

B. The post is mostly snark. But Estes Park the town was there (much smaller)

And employees there said the "Stanley" is very seldom snowed in.
