President Obama firmly believes Government is the answer to the issues that plague our country. Government intervention is warranted in Wall Street, the Health Insurance industry, Big Banks, General Motors, Chrysler, the amount of salt you eat, the settings on your thermostat, the size of the car you drive, eliminating secret ballots in Union elections, how you heat your house, the coal industry, what nutrition information needs to be printed on restaurant menus, who will get what health care treatment, and even if Israel should build apartments.
Somehow, an massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is not a concern of the Government?
They are willing to give me unwanted advise and regulations about my salt intake, but helping contain the BP oil spill is not in the Government purview? What will it take to designate the coastlines of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida as "too big to fail?"

Government never solved any problem. It simply created bureaucracy to hide the worst of the problem and to explain away what it couldn't hide.
Men solve problems. Governments usually make them worse.

The point is Government is quick to solve problems that are not problems and none of their damned business. In a situation that may call for help, the yare not to be found.
The intial plan may have been to let Rome burn to prove how bad off-shore drilling is, and why we must stop it.
If so, it is back-firing big time.
Or the President may simply be an incompetent in over his head and too arrogant to ask for help.

Where the heck is Greenpeace and all the other environmentalists? Why aren't they taking over the DC Mall in a million green march to force the one they elected to man up? Oh, that's right, he's a liberal. Same reason that all the virulent anti-war folk who stood rain, snow, and shine, protesting the war when Bush was in are silent now, though they're the two same damned wars with the same old Gitmo.
The people, the very few, who haven't dropped the subject with the personnel change in That pay grade, though I disagree with them, I at least respect their sticking to their beliefs no matter who's at top. The rest who use these causes only to bash conservatives and cover for liberals, I wouldn't wipe my bottom on their face out of respect for it, not them.
Would I be wrong to assume That One is spiteful enough to let Louisiana be ruined to twist conservative poster boy Jindal in the wind? While Yoo-hoo goes on vacation, Jindal's going to build some barriers himself, damn the consequences. Jindal - now there goes a Man:

Just like the ACLU is only making token noises about Eric Holder & John McCain's ambitions to shred the Bill of Rights, all the 'viros are pretty mum on all this...I've only heard a little anticapitalist ranting from ABCNNBCBS about Big Oil and George W.
