Friday Covers
Here we have a 19 year Steve Winwood belting out some serious blues-driven rock. Winwood formed Traffic and Blind Faith before going solo. BTW, that is Steve Winwood's brother on bass.
Chicago released their cover in 1969 when they were still the Chicago Transit Authority. We sometimes forget Chicago could really rock back before they started doing ballads in the 1980's, following REO and Styx into pop music Hell.
Keith Emerson gave us a disco-infused version for the Stallone film Nighthawks.
Los Lonely Boys gave us a version pretty faithful to Winwood's original.

All good (well, maybe the disco one not so much), but the original proves that sometimes less is more.
