It’s an interesting argument, but one that should have Americans worried. Basically, this is a tax that you have to pay to private companies. For all of the screaming the Right did over single-payer — and for good, outcome-based reasons — at least the taxes raised to fund it would go directly to government. The Supreme Court has signed off on what is, in very practical terms, a tax levied by the insurance industry on Americans simply for existing. It’s an amazing, and fearsome, decision that really should have both Right and Left horrified. --Hot AirYou are now going to pay taxes to private companies. I don't know. Since it is a tax we can make it go away in November.
Tell me again voting is a waste of time.

So it's a tax, not a forced consumption.
And if I don't pay the tax? I am compelled to go to jail, not to buy insurance.
The best legal minds in the country came up with this.
Remember when Obama said it wasn't a tax? Couldn't they take him at his word?
Of course they couldn't.
We can't either.
And Roberts sold us out.
It's not a tax if Obama says it isn't. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
Yes. WE will attempt to get him out of office, but the mexicans, gays and blacks far outnumber us now.
It's easy to vote for him when they aren't the ones paying taxes anyway.
I'm praying the American people speak this November. Throw the assholes OUT.
I disagree with Ed. I kinda, a little bit, disagree with the HotAir quote about paying insurance companies directly because that is not the end goal of ObamaTax. <<-- Note ObamaTax, not ObamaCare.
I keep thinking Roberts voted to uphold to make a point to Congress: You took this shit on the body politic, you fix it.
But I'm beginning to wonder if he's actually that smart.
We'll find out in November whether or not we're that smart.
Congrasses don't have to live with it, we do. They thought it was so wonderful they exempted themselves from it. SCUM.
In what is now a well-known exchange from ABC News’ January 2008 Republican presidential debate at St. Anselm College in New Hampshire, Mitt Romney declared “I like mandates” when asked by moderator Charlie Gibson about his approach to health care reform in Massachusetts.
But there’s another moment from the debate that’s getting more traction after yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling — on in which Romney says “yes,” when asked is the health reform law he ushered in as governor constituted a tax.
GIBSON: ”Governor … you imposed tax penalties in Massachusetts?”
ROMNEY: ”Yes, we said, look, if people can afford to buy it, either buy the insurance or pay your own way; don’t be free-riders.”

I could care less about what Romney has to say. I extremely concerned with the new definition of taxes. What part of the constitution give the Supreme Court the right to change a law? Obama has declared it was not a tax, so now it it is a tax, is Obama a liar or is the supreme court wrong? The keys to the castle have just been given away. Don't want to buy a government motors vehicle be prepared to be taxed. This is much more than a Health Care issue. Failure to recognize the real issues with health care has led to a destruction of the constitution and liberals are happy little bastards and bitches.
