I encountered a bumper sticker yesterday that has me confused.
Normally, I consider myself a fairly astute when it comes to politics, but today I am not so sure. Here is what it said;
Make Iran Great Again
My first reaction was almost instant anger. Perhaps it was an instinctive reaction to the large Muslim population in the area. I immediately interpreted the slogan as pro-Iranian. Since I’m of a certain age, I’ve had strong feelings about Iran since the Hostage Crisis. Sorry, I’m not sorry at all.
After a few minutes I thought maybe the bumper sticker (it was actually on the back window of an SUV) might have been a play on the President’s slogan of Make America Great Again, supporting the current conflict with Iran?
What do you think it means? I guess I’ll blame the slogan itself for a total lack of clarity.
Hmmm, maybe that’s the point…

Iran was, before Carter and the Shah,, a great country...Persian rather than muslim very western-ish, with freedoms that are lacking today. Prosperous and growing.
perhaps that is what the solan was referring to?
Could be. I had a pledge brother in college who escaped just before the Revolution.
Don't do satires much eh?
