The Breeze in the Boxwoods

Red licorice and coffee is really the breakfast of champions; I don't care what that wheat flake cereal company claims. I also don't care what the doctor-types say. Those same folks used to think horse dung poultices were just the thing for cuts and bleeding cured...pretty much everything I have no doubt scientists in the next centuries will scratch their butt-shaped heads and wonder why no one could grasp the obvious benefits of Red Vines, Twizzlers, and a hot cuppa joe.

The heck with that Garp guy too. Pay attention to the World According to Joe and you will be happy, content, and most importantly, right. Lots of people think so. I see rubber bracelets with "WWJD" on them all of the time. I am pretty sure that stands for What Would Joe Do? I can only conclude that slogan is a reminder to the wearer to consider how I would think and behave accordingly.

What?

Oh. Never mind.

At least my T-shirt and undies line is still going strong. *

The rains earlier in the week have made everything lush and green. It also made the grass grow. With temperatures forecasted to hit the mid-nineties with high humidity over the weekend I think I will try to get the grass cut at lunch or this evening.

The granddaughter is coming to stay with us for a few days, so I took a vacation day for Monday. We will try to find something fun to do.

I've been tearing through my collection of the Sharpe series by Bernard Cornwell. I have been knocking off a book about every other day. My reading time has reduced my Internet browsing and that is probably a good thing. Summer reruns are on the TV, so I read a little in the morning and a lot in the evening.

That is enough of my rambling. Have a great weekend.

* only the oldest of long-time readers know about my clothing line.

More. The title is always the last thing I throw up on a post because titles are hard. It is probably a good thing my application to caption pictures at National Geographic was rejected after college graduation. I would have really sucked at it. Anyway, it seems my first choice as title for this post "The Wind in the Willows" was taken. I don't know, I think it has something to do with frogs or toads and badgers and boats or something. I have a giant willow in my backyard and all I see near it is a random squirrel taunting the boy's dog. I've never seen a singing hedgehog crooning beneath the swaying branches.

Boring.

Not like my genius writing.

I'm not sure why others want to wear your underwear.

Of course they would. At least those from my "designer" line. Maybe not my personal tightie whities.
